The theme of migration, shipwrecks and in general the condition of the most fragile has always resonated with me in a particular way. Maybe, who knows, it will be because of the assonance of my surname with Sarrasin (Saracen).
Be that as it may, for some years I believed that denouncing some situations through the creation of small artistic works could help change things.
I am now convinced that I was wrong!
Not even the greatest contemporary artists can do anything but testify, it does not seem possible to change these tragic facts. Works of art should enter the hard hearts of the people who provoke these situations. I think it’s impossible nowadays.
Testimony is important, but it is not enough for me.
And that’s why I stopped working on this issue.

This collection includes 3 short graphic novels, an interactive light box, postcards, participation in BAU 14, (Art Container) and participation in two group exhibitions.

Some drawings from the graphic novel “With these hands…” were included in the short film “Ascmat – Names: Lampedusa 3 October 2013” shot during a flashmob in Lampedusa by director Dagmawi Yimer. The short film premiered in Verona on November 2, 2013 (in conjunction with the celebration of the poet Alda Merini, who passed away on November 1, 2009).

Il tema delle migrazioni, dei naufragi e in generale della condizione dei più fragili ha sempre risuonato in me in maniera particolare. Forse, chissà, sarà per via dell’assonanza del mio cognome con Sarrasin (saraceno).
Comunque sia, per alcuni anni ho creduto che denunciare alcune situazioni attraverso la realizzazione di piccoli lavori artistici potesse contribuire a cambiare le cose.
Sono ora convinto che mi stavo sbagliando!
Neanche i più grandi artisti contemporanei non possono fare altro che testimoniare, non sembra possibile far cambiare questi fatti tragici. Le opere d’arte dovrebbero entrare nei cuori duri delle persone che provocano queste situazioni. Penso che sia impossibile oggigiorno.
La testimonianza è importante, ma non mi basta.
Ed è per questo che ho smesso di lavorare a questo tema.

Di questa raccolta fanno parte 3 brevi graphic novel, un light box interattivo, le cartoline, la partecipazione a BAU 14, (Contenitore d’arte) e la partecipazione a due esposizioni collettive.

Alcuni disegni della graphic novel “Con queste mani…” sono stati inseriti all’interno del cortometraggio “Ascmat – Nomi: Lampedusa 3 Ottobre 2013” girato durante un flashmob a Lampedusa dal regista Dagmawi Yimer. Il corto è stato presentato in anteprima a Verona il 2 novembre 2013 (in concomitanza con la celebrazione della poetessa Alda Merini, scomparsa il 1 novembre 2009).
