    Curated by Eleonora Raspi

Luca has chosen this almost forgotten constellation with the objective to increase the level of interaction between the artwork and the visitors, but always in the field of land art.
“That’s why I’ve chosen Pegasus, the flying horse, symbol of poetical and spiritual inspiration. As almost all constellations, the name of the stars match with the body position inside the constellation, as Markab means the saddle, Enif the nose, Algenib the flank/ wing or they have poetical names as Matar, the lucky rain of shooting stars or Sirrah, the navel of the mare (but now part of Andromeda constellation)” Luca says.

These stars’s names have inspired he these brief stories in which they spoke by itself, sometimes with riddles. Visitors could listen to these stories through the telephones placed close to the most important 10 stars, which were ringing when they come closer. A sweet mode to enter into this forgotten night sky world and to keep in touch with the earth, the rain, elements not very present in our daily life.
As all of his constellation installations, the Pegasus’s stars were lit during the night, visible by Montegemoli village or walking throught the stars. This work was meant to offer, he hopes, an emotional experience, to create curiosity and some relax moments…

An interactive telephone and its “Star”

    Sheat star (the upper arm)

    SHEAT audio track (english)
From this star start, the movements
and the momentum that spreads down
to my heels both begin. To spring up,
and then the wing will do its part, the most important.
But I do not think myself
    any less important,
at the service of such a fantastic animal!
And although my hooves pierce the air rather than the ground,
I am here, fixed in the sky,
    for noble reasons,
because of the soul’s creative imagination.
