“The themes that most follow me (or chase me) in the last 10-12 years mainly concern my interest in Greek mythology in general and Minoan in particular. It was from a trip to Crete that I drew the first small herds of bulls. These, after 2006, after the solo show at the Victoria Hotel on the other side of the Arno, have enlarged, 70 cm at the base the first, up to 2 meters today, always or almost red on a black background, always darting to the left, regardless of the observer. They are not threatening, they are pure energy in motion, a propulsive, vital, masculine force. Invited to create installations for 3 editions of the contemporary art biennial in Montegemoli di Pomarance (M’Arte) in 2011 I tried to build in three dimensions one of these herds, almost life-size, that come out of the earth. I called them Tori Terrestri (Earth Bulls), made of papier-mâché, fragile to the weather. A job that cost many months of effort but above all of worries, a new feeling for me in art.”

“A blog was born out of these fears, about the progress of production, about the experimentation of a new material to me, discreetly followed in the summer of 2011. The blog has now become a printed book and an ebook, which collects in an organized form the whole set of thoughts, photographs, fears, teasing.”

“Le tematiche che più mi seguono (o mi inseguono) negli ultimi 10 –12 anni riguardano soprattutto il mio interesse per la mitologia greca in generale e minoica in particolare. E’ da un viaggio a Creta che ho disegnato le prime piccole mandrie di tori. Queste, dopo il 2006, dopo la personale al Victoria Hotel dall’altro lato dell’Arno, si sono ingrandite, 70 cm di base i primi, fino ai 2 metri oggi, sempre o quasi rosse su fondo nero, sempre sfreccianti verso sinistra, incuranti dell’osservatore. Non sono infatti minacciose, sono energia pura in movimento, forza propulsiva, vitale, maschile. Invitato a realizzare installazioni per 3 edizioni della biennale d’arte contemporanea a Montegemoli di Pomarance (M’Arte) nel 2011 ho provato a costruire in tre dimensioni una di queste mandrie, quasi a grandezza naturale, che vengono fuori dalla terra. Li ho chiamati Tori Terrestri, fatti di cartapesta, fragili alle intemperie, alle incurie. Un lavoro costato molti mesi di fatica ma soprattutto di preoccupazioni, un sentimento nuovo per me in arte. Di questi timori, dello stato di avanzamento della produzione, della sperimentazione di un materiale a me nuovo ne è nato un blog, discretamente seguito nell’estate 2011. Il blog adesso è diventato un libro stampato e un ebook, che ne raccoglie in forma organizzata tutto l’insieme dei pensieri, delle fotografie, dei timori, degli sfottò.”
